Magic bed & power drain

have a 97 Safari Trek with the Magic Bed. Twice now, one of the 4 gears that raise/lower the bed has slipped. we had it re-set and it was fine for 5 or 6 nights. last time out, my wife was climbing onto the bed and one gear/side slipped down about 4 or 5 notches on the rail.
does anyone know what causes this and is there a permanent solution?
also, we have a battery drain that our mechanic can't find. our coach batteries are new and the engine battery is a bout 3 or 4 years old. the batteries go down after 5 or 7 days. there is not enough power to start the generator or engine. it must be jumped. our mechanic says he can detect no draw yet today, the coach batteries read at 7.4 volts. after sitting for a week. batteries were strong when we parked it and i can find no electrical switches left on.
any helpful ideas will be appreciated.

Lowell's bed clips. Clip into the track and the bed rests on them and carries the weight.

See the Trek Tracks web site. A web site dedicated to the Trek. A super source of info for all things Trek.

A previous Trek owner,
Vince.

If like my 95' Trek, and if I recall correctly, if you leave the backup camera turned it also turns on the inverter, which will take down the battery. Without shore power, the red light on the panel in the galley should be off - unless the inverter is on. Red light = AC power from either shore or inverter.
