Magna Shade black or brown

My RV is white with tan and brown. Any pros or cons to do black over the brown for my windshield? I don't want any design so these are my only options to order from them.

I'd order whichever you feel best compliments your coach. I can't imagine that there's much of any measurable difference in performance between the two colors.

I wanted black since they say darker color reflected the sun better, but the wife wanted brown since it blends best with the coach paint.

The guy at MagnaShade said black and brown are almost equal and best for sun reflection so we went with Brown. It was the right choice, works great and looks even better.

JRPA,
Please let us know how the MagnaShade works. I have been looking at them. Hoping this will keep the coach a little cooler.

We have takes several trips since purchase and love it, but it wasn't too hot. With summer temps coming on (112 yesterday) it will be put to the test on our next Trip in Mid July. I am hoping for a little relief from the windshield temperatures radiating in, we also purchased the door and the drivers side window magnashade screens. I will try to remember to post back a review of how well it works in summer temps.

We have brown since it matches the MH; works fine.

It sounds counter intuitive but Roger Hunkler has provided information on why black covers are better at reducing solar heat getting inside the coach from the windows compared to any other color. However, I think that it is a fairly small difference between black and brown. Go with what you think fits both your aesthetic and practical needs.

Based on this I just ordered black.

Thank you for the replies. I hope to get them ordered tomorrow.

One more question? did you install yourself or go to MS for install? I've watched the videos, any suggestions on self installing other than what is seen on the video?

I'm cheating. LOL Roger and Co will probably be at the Newmar Rally in July and do the installing. If not, we are passing very near the factory after the rally heading down to SC to see family. We will stop by the factory for the installing.

We self-installed, a little tricky, but made it. Take your time.

We purchased the black and I did get a design. Really helps with the heat, so much so, I later purchased the side shades. We installed them ourselves, takes a little bit of time, but is quite easy to do. Just watch out for those magnets when you are installing them ... very powerful and will pinch your finger if you aren't careful. (I know from experience!)

The first set I self installed. I used a lot of painters tape to hold the cover in place while I installed the interior magnets. The second set Roger helped me, we were taking delivery of the coach only one hour from his home/factory. He showed me a tip that made installing some of the magnets in hard to reach places (up behind the upper cabnets/tv in our case) much easier. Grab a butter knife and stick the magnet to the end of the blade (NOT the sticky side) and it will give you a handle to help maneuver the magnet up into that narrow space.
