Magnum Inverter not working?

I have a Magnum ME2012 inverter/charger in my 07 HR Ambassador. The interior control panel does not power up unless I am on shore power. I can not turn on the inverter when we're driving.

On shore power... the unit seems to work fine charging the batteries and providing feedback about the charging taking place. I can even turn on the inverter (don't know how to tell if it is actually working because the plugs all have shore power)

On Battery... The monitor inside is not powered up at all so I can't turn on the inverter to see if it will work.

We have owned this coach about 6 months and have yet to really need the inverter, so I don't really know if it ever worked since we owned it or if this was a prior problem.

Any suggestions? Am I missing a secret switch somewhere? Is there some magic reset button that will cure all?

The inverter function on the 2012 is semi automatic. There are buttons on the panel to turn on/off the charger and the inverter.

They are on the left side of the panel, and they are tiny. Is your inverter button on?

If the inverter button is not on, the unit will pass power thru the inverter circuits on shore power (or gennie) but u get nuttin if not plugged in.

If the inverter button is on and the inverter light is lit, it should make power for the 2 inverter circuits.

Norm Mac....Go outside to the inverter. Unplug the cord that looks like a phone jack. There are two places to plug it back in, so look at which one you unplug it from. Wait thirty seconds and then plug it back in. A lot of times, this will clear any issues with the control panel.

If this doesn't resolve your issue, call Magnum. They're GREAT on the phone and will walk you through diagnosis of your issue.

What Don says may work. In addition turn both banks of batteries off for a minute or two to let any computer chips reset.
