Manifold Gasket

I had one replaced last year and it has started to leak again, really bad after the first start in the AM, then after she warms up you can hardly hear it. I know Chev had trouble with the Manifold Gasket on the 454. We took her back today to who fixed it and they said that they are using some sort of a liquid weld on it beside another gasket and it will be ready in the morning..
Has any one heard of doing something like this???
The neighbor guy told me tonight that it will work great and not to worry.
I hope he's right. I do have faith in the place repairing it they work on my 64 caddie, also.
Thank you, Tim

I always put the gasket on with a thin layer of Right Stuff by Permatex and have never had a comeback at my shop. I have even used it as a header gasket on my race car and never had gasket "blow out". I would check their work after just to make sure they didn't have a stud snap off in the head and tried to get away without it, I have seen that to many times.

Good luck

Well its 10:30 am the next morning and have not heard from them. They said they wanted it to sit over night to make sure it drys. I take that as it should be ready now... I am going to call, I hate to call and bug them but whats a guy to do? I really hope they didn't break a bolt or blow it up.
I have a new CB and a new Stereo to install, I'm getting anxious.

Tim

Just got off the phone. They are telling me that they are hearing another leak. There is a vehicle in the stall so after they are done with that one they will get back to mine.
This is being done under their warranty. I am glad that they found it now instead of me finding it when I got her home.
