Manual Slideout Retract Jack

Since we bought our coach used, I have always wondered about the procedure for manually retracting a slide that was stuck open. I found the information on opening the hydraulic valves. However the exact procedure to jack the slide closed was a mystery. This weekend I happened to camp next to a fellow with a sister model of coach. It was an Aerbus, and mine is a Rexair. He showed me the jack and where it is installed, and it made sense. The jack is basically a two ton come-along ( cable winch ) attached to a square tubular steel piece that fits into a sleeve on the coach. I am now on a mission to find a place to buy one of these. Any ideas other than Rexhall would be appreciated. thanks.

Some are as easy as putting a wrench on a nut and turning. Some you have to disconnect a hydraulic line and push! Probably even more ways. Your manual or another owner should may be able to answer better.

Thanks Jerry. On this unit you need to disconnect the hydraulics at the main cylinder. Then you need to push ( or pull ) the slide closed. The jack mechanism is designed to pull it closed, and it must have stayed with the former owner along with the owners manuals.
