MCU's on Tag RV's

Hi - new member, but long time visitor.

I've searched and read all posts on MCU's, as well as shocks. We're dialing in our new/old 04 Country Coach Allure, 40', with tag. New 12R Michelin XZE's with Centamatic's on steer, drive and tag.

Now working on handling. Adjusted the front hieght to the top of the range, set the Koni SP1 Adjustable's to 4 out of 5 setting. First trip felt good, but wanted a bit more out of the handling, for emergeny handling if needed.

After surfing many boards, talking wit Redlands Truck and Henderson's Line Up, I ordered Road King's and SS MCU's. Went with over 30K lbs for rear, and under 30K lbs for front. The front IFS, with good shocks, are supposed to work well with the smaller MCU's.

Coach is in for post PDI wrap up, which includes the install of shocks and MCU's, and a few other items.

Now my question for help. The suspension gent working on the rig, said that many people with IFS front ends and Tag's, found that the rear MCU's were not needed. He suggests that I go take a trip with the Road Kings's and front MCU's only. He feels I'll come back and not want to go ahead with rear's.

In all my surfing on MCU's, I could never determine if Tag's were ever involved on a rig that had the rear's on to? Saw a few where only fronts were added, but most of these were on FL chassis. Good thread on Alpine owner's, but do not know if they were Tag or not? The gent said he'd seen many IFS Tag rigs with only the front MCU's.

Any opines or first hand knowledge of Tag owners, would be appreciated.
Be safe, have fun,
Smitty (Glad to be aboard this board!)

You would certainly think with the tag the mcu would not be needed. IMO you should follow the advise and take the trip. You can always return and have them throw it on.
