MH-On The Hunt

We currently have a FW/Dually Diesel combo but are going on the hunt for a MH/Toad combo. I think we've narrowed it down to a Tiffin to fit our price range. Heard tell from these forums (I'm a lurker), that you can get a good used one for $60-$80 with good maintenance records. They said look around retirement communities and such.
So guess I'm looking for some guidance from you MH experts that have been down this road already. My research methods always start with the statement "I can't be the first one who's ever done this, so let me start digging".
Thanks in advance for you insights!

All I know is this.. specific years, and I want to say it was somewhere in the 08 range, had some major rood rail issues that Tiffin fixed at no charge... but you would want to be sure the tiffin you buy either isn't in that year range, or that that work has already been done. Some more digging can reveal the details of that and on which models it was.

Don't limit yourself to Tiffin. Lots of other brands out there with coaches just as reliable as Tiffin. Check models and floor plans, when you find one you like, then check out it's reliability.

I would highly recommend the 2002-2003 Monaco coaches. We have been very happy with ours. Some of those, like the Windsor, had the Roadmaster with 8 airbags and auto air leveling, no hydraulic jacks, which we love!

Be careful, because some of the Roadmaster chassis in that time frame had a problem with the "trailing arms" breaking, which was VERY expensive to fix! I think that may have been with just the 4 airbag chassis, but not sure.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
