Question MH vehicle inspection in NJ

Has anyone in New Jersey got any advice as to getting my motor home inspected at a State inspection station? Do you need to go to any specific inspection station or can I pull into any of the stations?

I'll also post this in the NorthEast region forum.

NJ Inspection

Any one should be able to do it. I've had several RV's inspected at my local place in Freehold since 1994. In fact they have a larger entry line for big trucks and there's never a wait.

Just take it to the State inspection. I took mine to the Eatontown Inspection Station on Route 36, went right through!

When I lived in the Garden State I took mine to Mays Landing. No problem but they looked at me funny, special lane on the right.

Glad I do not have to go through that anymore.

Bob I would check D M V to be sure your local guy can due it. The DMV station seem to have heavier truck equipment to test it on. I no in Freehold you have to go in the truck lane or they wave you off. Three guys worked on my Dutch Star no big deal,I find the guys seem to be interested in RVs so they lighten up a little.

Went to Deptford MV inspection station. Directed to the truck lane on the right and went right thru.

Yep....What George said. Right Hand lane in Deptford handled my former 31' Class C. The inspector said to me "We got a problem with the RV" my heart sank & I said what's the problem? He replied "It's 4 years old & only has 16,000 miles on it. Something this nice.....you got to drive" I was relieved when he smiled and replied to him "Hey, gas is almost $4 per gallon. You buy the gas & the beer, I'll take ya wherever you want to go!"
