MH with Gen. that slide out--Pre 1998 models??

1995 Winne Luxor had the slide out the front Gen Mount. What other MH, if any, in that time frame had a gen. that could slide out to service or facilitate replacement?

Appreciate the information. By increasing my budget to $30,000 I found about 30 more pusher to sort through, but my criteria quickly weeds out most of them. The generator rack being the biggest eliminator. But I'll keep looking. If I am going to pay $30000 would hope to find a 8.3 cummins and a diesel generator on a rack at 38 feet long or less that wasn't a total disaster otherwise. Thanks again.

Unless the generator has a kjillion hours on it, I wouldnt make it a deal breaker. My buddies 94 bounder has a diesel genny with lots of hours and it works great. Those diesel generators should outlast the coach, unless you run them continuously.

Winniman, understand what you are saying but it looks as if I can get one with the slide out for the same money so am inclinded to hold out for that. I have had 6 MH in the past an know the problems most of the time isn't the generator engine itself--but have to be able to get to it, and in some cases, take it out. I am wary about 15 to 18 year old generators. Those that are mounted up front, with out a trap door to access them and require jacking up the coach or removing the front end of the MH to get them out are more of a challenge than I want. Appreciate the thought however.

F8 jockey, I recently found a 38' 2000 Dutch Star with a 330 Cat for 29K, Very clean. 66K miles . I see you want an 8.3 Cummins ,but I settled on a 7.2 Cat.with a side radiator. Replaced all the belts in 15 min. Still got the Diesel Gen set on a slide. The only thing it needed was new rubber.So there are still bargains out there. Art.

Artwerke did you recognize my airplane or pick it up from earlier post? In any event you are right. More than a 1000 hours and 500 carrier landings.

We have cats in our boats and find the parts expensive and less readily aviailable and the mechanics are hard to find. The Cummins Truck business seems to be stronger than the Cat truck business and helps with mechanic availability and parts costs. The side radiator does make a difference however.

Have you looked at this one? It says the appearance is fair, and handy man special. The price seems good $23,995, depending on what is wrong with it. Give PPL a call.
