Michelin tire question

I've got to buy two front tires ASAP, and am trying to decide between Michelin and Goodyear. I went to the Michelin website, then to RV tires, put in my size (295-80R-22.5), and only two series comes up, the X Coach HL Z, and the XZA2 Energy tire. It looks like the XZA2 has a much higher rating.

What is everyone using in that size tire? I got one price this morning on the Goodyear G670 RV and the price blew me away, $756 (less $40 rebate) per tire, including all taxes, but not mounted and balanced! How does this compare to what you paid?

Thanks for all comments!

Have you checked the FMCA Advantage plan? You do have to be an FMCA member but some members, not all though, have reported saving big $$ using it.

Paid $1100 balanced and mounted, for that size Toyo's in Oregon, earlier this year .
Goodyear G670's are probably the last tire I would put back in that position!

Yep, the FMCA price was roughly $707 plus shipping and local sales tax. I'm hoping for a better price!

Joe,

Look for the Bridgestone R268. This is a fairly new series which compares with Michelin XZA2 Energy. I have the older design R250 Bridgestones on my drive & tag axle & am very happy.

Just had 6 XZA3+ mounted with Counteract Balancing Beads at the Love's Truck Stop in Williams, AZ. Mounted, with trade in allowance of $80/tire came to $538 ea. plus tax. I don't think FMCA could touch that.

Michelin tire question

Joe, bought mine via FMCA 18 months ago. Same size as yours, but XZA2. About $740 each.

Dave, when I called FMCA they said the price they quoted would be plus shipping. That would be expensive! Did you have to pay shipping?

I ordered them via FMCA. Don't have the invoice anymore. All I know is a bit over $4700 total for the rear 6 installed and spin balanced. Say about $800 each out the door. Our tire size is expensive! And XZA3+ is the top tire.
They should be able to give you a bottom line.
OTOH, how much more can it be if you amortize the total cost over 7 years?
BTW, 275/80 is way less.
