If taken care of the engine has lots of life left in it, maintenance is the key.

I bought my coach with just over 50K miles on 8 years ago, it now has 105K on it.

Even in the harshest of conditions if the engine is taken car of it will last a long time. I worked in underground mines. Engine life was not measured in miles but in hours. We could get +10K hours on an engine before rebuilding, which would be over 500K miles. This is in a very harsh environment. Keep the air intake in good working order, cooling system clean, and the oil changed and the engines are virtually indestructible.

Just curious about your thoughts on mpg with such relatively small hp. Using your example of a 37 footer, and all things being equal, I would almost think that a 360 hp would get BETTER mileage than a 300 hp engine. Am I wrong in thinking this way? For example, a Corvette gets 29 mpg hwy even though it has nearly 500 hp. Just a thought, but I could be wrong. (Also sorry don't mean to hijack the thread but your comment intrigued me).

My ISX is showing 7.6 over 45,000 miles, which is about the same as our ISC 350 got in the '02 DSDP. Now that it's been rebuilt it's getting somewhat less but it'll go up as it loosens up.
