mileage

What does everybody consider high mileage for a Motor home, I know it depends on how they are taken care of but in general, I'm looking at one with just less then 50k

I would consider High Mileage in the 15 MPG RANGE. However in reality it turns out to be 8.5 - 9.0. And THAT is the truth.

X2. Also, depends on what year it is. 50k on something 10 years old wouldn't bother me a bit, but 50k on something a year old would.

This is a shot of the TripTec computer screen in my coach on one leg of our summer excursion. This was my finest hour.

50k miles is not a lot of miles on DP, especially of that age. Better to be used regularily than setting unused. That said, it all depends on if the proper maintenance has been done. Service records and receipts are king.

I would not have any worries about 50,000 miles on a dp.
Unless it was 25 years old, then it would have sat to much of me.

A well cared for DP with 50,000 miles has lots of life left.

DPs get between 6-12 mpg. With a 37' and an ISB 300HP you might see 10, with an ISC 300HP somewhere around 8 mpg. Your mileage may very. So much depends on driving style, speed and flat or mountain terrain and load or towing.

If it's a diesel pusher, and has been properly serviced, then I would not worry about mileage! Ours had 84K when we bought it in 2012. I, or it's next owner, expect to get 500K out of it!

50K miles isn't even broken in.... Most engines in DP's will be going LONG after the coach (house part) is completely worn out....

Just remember - it's very common got over-the-road truckers to have over 500K miles on their rigs... Proper maintenance is the key...,
