I wonder if the OP has an XCS chassis like mine with the 5.9 ISB. A couple of indicators would be leaf springs and 1000 or 2000 transmission. I love my XCS and there are not that many out there.

" drinking to excess " my DW won't allow me to; unless I pour her drink first.

Hi Jim:

My 2001 XC chassis has air bag suspension and the Allison 3000-MH 6 speed.
The 5.9 Cummins ISB turbo charged engine is a 300HP. So far I am impressed with the set up. The coach is a 2002.

Picture me and my diminutive 21 year old blond hair daughter on creepers checking out the drivetrain. She is a truck tech at a truck repair business in West Springfield. She is giving me a tour pointing out various relays and other stuff that I might want to either replace or carry as spares.

She is a great little kid.

60Vette. With your MH it could have been an XCS or XC. My 36' MH got the XCS and Damon used the XC on their 38' model. You have airbags and the 6 speed transmission which is nearly universally agreed to be preferable. I like the leaf springs and shocks a lot. In the many threads about air bag vs springs and shocks it seems that some MHs with springs don't provide a well behaved suspension and others do. It must depend on weight distribution, selection of springs, shocks, and anti sway bars. There even seems to be complaints that some air bags lead to excessive sway. There is a side topic for sure. You will like the Freightliner chassis and their customer service number in Gaffney is there for all owners even long after the warranty has expired. BTW 11 MPG is excellent.
