Mileage Exempt question

I just picked up a motorhome from California and drove it back to Virginia. The dealer didnt have the title and said it was a clear title. However when he mailed it back to me, it says Mileage exempt. It is a 2006 with 110,800 miles when I bought it, which is on the bill of sale. How badly does this hurt the resale? It is a 2006 American Tradition (Diesel)

10 yr old and older are Exempt from 'Mileage Reporting ' requirements

Mileage at time of resale will be available via 'odometer' regardless of not being on Title

Yep. Just not required to put on actual mileage. No biggie.

So if you guys where to buy an RV it would bother you that it was mileage exempt. Do you think that should of been mentioned if it was won on an EBAY auction?

What is the logic behind mileage exeptioning vehicles older than 10 years?

I recently sold out 2002 motorhome in ca and recorded the mileage on the title transfer.

Here is what the CA DMV says about mileage reporting. Basically, the rule is that odometer readings don't have to be officially verified if the vehicle is over 10 years old. My guess is that it is simply eliminating a burdensome verification requirement on vehicles that are probably already high mileage anyway (120k-140k would be typical for a car at 10 years).

Same in Florida, when we moved here in 2009 my wives 1995 Cutlass Convertible was exempt on new Florida title. Only had 27,000 on odometer, works both ways, strictly by age.

If I was shopping for a used motor home, mileage would be way down towards the bottom of my priority list. There are dozens of things to consider that are much more important than the mileage.
