Mini Blind string broken

I have a mini blind that the string broke that attaches to the wall that keeps the blind from banging around. Is there any way to repair it? its 58" wide and finding a replacement is pretty tough.. Thanks

In the pastel have seen videos and websites online demonstrating how to repair those strings. You may want to check YouTube.

vega3410-

I'm familiar with the shades that have a string at each end (connected to the wall on a "button") and that you raise and lower by pushing on the bar at the bottom of the shade. If that describes your shades, here's a Web site on restringing them, with pictures:

I finally used a long needle and squeezed the blind together. Easy to thread thru.
Check one out if you decide to do it yourself.
Good luck

We restrung a couple of our OEM shades some time ago. We discovered that the string failure was attributed to the nylon grommet, which protects the string from the metal bars, had worn through and frayed the string. When another blind failed rather than restring it we decided to replace all five of the shades with new ones, the originals were getting pretty worn. We ordered from a local blind company and they were manufactured by United Shade who were the original suppliers to Monaco. One failed within two months due to a broken string. Rather than return it we just restrung it and found that the nylon grommets had been replaced by brass ones. Unfortunately they were not installed very carefully and had very sharp edges. I replaced them with nylon grommets and hoped the others were better made. Right now I'm looking at another one that the string just broke about 8 months old. I'll fix this one but won't be buying anymore day nite shades, the quality has really gone down. When you fix yours pay careful attention to the grommets and inspect for wear.

If you can get hold of the end of the string at the bottom of the shade, just extend it by tying on a length of dental floss....tough stuff that will not break, then tie the floss to the plastic standoff.

Home Depot ( or blind shops) may have a little piece that fits into the bottom rail that has "tips" on the ends. These tips fit into a hole in bottom brackets that are sold to hold the bottom rail from swinging around.
