Motion activated LED lights
The DW is the queen of night lights (cheaper than a divorce I've been told) and I've had poor luck with 3' LED strip lights mounted at the base of the bathroom cabinets. At a couple hundred hours chips stop working and by 500 hours so many are out it barely provides any light.
Found some 10 led battery powered motion lights and for $7 each they had to be worth a try. Glued one (with magnetic strip) on the side of the top step coming into the MH. Another in the bathroom and the third one (they come in a 3 pack) on her side of the bed. Very happy with all three locations so wanted to mount one on the extended steps so when you walked up to the rig there would be light at night BUT the 10 led ones where to long to miss the slide mechanism when the steps retract.
Found some 6 led ones and it fits well on the side of the step on my 08 Navigator.

I put this LED light at the top of my entry steps. It does a good job lighting the stairs at night and turns on when you open the door.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It has an On, Auto, and Off switch.
But, one thing I found is that at night, in Auto mode, it would turn on from wife's feet movement while seated in the passenger chair. That was distracting, so we turn it Off before traveling at night (which we don't normally do) - but then you need to remember to turn it back it On. So placement is something to consider.

I ran into a vendor at Quartzite last year that designed, patented and markets a replacement LED motion light that replaces your main door light. So you turn it off an on with your regular door light switch. I nearly bought it, but somehow got distracted. I've since seen coaches that have them, and the few that I asked about seemed to like them. I don't recall the cost.
