I hope this is the right forum, but I am looking for a power motorcycle carrier/lift to install on my 40' diesel pusher. I need a lift system that will drop down to ground level, allow me to roll on the bike, fasten the tie-downs, then push a button to raise the bike up 30" or 40", leaving room for my normal toad connection.
The bike weighs about 650 lbs, my toad is a Jeep GC.
Any ideas/recommendations?
Thanks.

Just joined this group. I am looking to do the same. Google Grady County Carriers.
gc-carriers.com

They are in OK City, OK. and will be happy to work with you. I think that they have a hydraulic lift capable mc carrier.

Welcome aboard viatorial,

Hoep to see you posting frequently on the forums.

Good info on GC-carriers. That company looks like it offers quite a few carriers and stands.

Here is a link to a thread on bike lifts. Take a moment to read.

Also, here is the link for Overbilt, Inc.

My RV with Overbilt, Inc. lift. I opted for manually operated lift but they have the same that is motorized. Terrific lift.

Give Art the owner of Overbilt, Inc. a call. He will help you out with the calculation below and discuss pricing, etc.. He is personable and easy to talk with.

Bike Lift Calculations ...... You try not to overload the rear axle.
With the lift you actually take weight off the front axle.

Formula:

Measure the distance from the center of rear axle to the center of the weight (Lift). Divide that number by the RV's wheelbase. Multiply the result by 100 to get percent. That percent of the load is added to the load and becomes the total load added to the rear axle. That percent of the load is subtracted from the front axle weight and unloads the front axle by that amount.

Calculations for my rig:

700 lb. Harley Fat Boy, Overbilt, Inc. Lift 250 lb. = 950 lb.
Center axle to rear 163" wheelbase 210"
163 divide by 210=0.78 X 100= 78%
Weight is 1691 lb. added to rear axle
Front axle will be 741 lbs lighter

I second all that BillArf says. I had an Overbilt lift on a 40' Monaco Diplomat and it worked great for three years. It was installed by Art in Lake Katrine, NY. The motorcycle is a HD Electraglide.

We recently traded the Diplomat for a 45' Essex. Last week we were in Lake Katrine having Art put the old lift on the Essex.
