Motorhome Inspector

How do you go about finding someone to do the inspection of a used DP before buying or do you typically take it to the local Cummins/Spartan service center.
The particular DP I am looking at is a 2002 Travel Supreme on a Spartan K2 chassis with a Cummins 500HP engine.

Hi rtwoolums,
That would be a place to check and see if they have a pre-purchase inspection offering you could buy. However, one still needs to have the coach and its' systems inspected. That is a different skill and Camping World does have a pre-purchase inspection offering you can purchase. I do not know of a single place that does both the coach and the automotive systems.

Consider purchasing a service contract for the first year. Good Sam has this offering.

Thanks Gary. I am more concerned about getting the chassis and engine inspected. A service contract will definately be in the plans for a year or two.

The local Feightliner shop in Wixom, MI quoted me $350 to inspect a chassis / engine.

If there is a Cummins Bridgeway facility near you that also works on coaches that is a good bet.

go to rv.org buy their product learn what to look for yourself. Most of the time the problems aren't with the chassis or drive train but with the house part of the motor home. Also check to see if they have all the service receipts.
Also go to oodle.com plug in what you're looking for and they will email you updates after the initial data dump. good luck
