Motorhome Personal Property Tax

I live in York County, VA. York County has a personal property tax rate of $4/$100 value or 4%. So keeping my current RV in the county I reside in costs me about $430/month. However, I drive it 13 miles into the city of Hampton, VA to store it and the tax rate is $0.000001/$100 value or just about FREE. I decided to store the RV in Hampton.

This made me curious about what tax rates are being paid in different areas. What location and tax rate do you have?

Mass. is $25.00 per thousand. The first year is 90% of the LIST price, no matter what you paid. Of course sales tax is extra!

Howdy,
We paid $19K in Arizona for taxes on our new RV. The Reg and Plates are over $4500 per year. We are retiring in June and taking up Residence in South Dakota, it will be $500/yr for Reg and Plates.
Just sayin! Les

In PA, $81 per year for plates.
5% sales tax at purchase.
That is it for me now: $81 per year

Here in Waupaca Co., Wisconsin. 5% state sales tax & 1/2% county sales tax at time of purchase. Annual license fee is $108.50. We have no personal property tax on RVs. There is discussion going on right now in our state to raise more transportation money. Charging by the mile driven, increasing motor fuel tax, and increasing motor vehicle registration fees are all being looked it. WI has no toll roads now and that is being looked at also. Electric powered vehicles pay no road tax and DOT will have to figure how to handle that or the rest of us will have to make up the difference.

Does merely parking your coach in another county legally exempt you from the personal property taxes in your county?
