Motorhome Refurbishing

We own a National Sea Breeze and we love it. We wanted to replace the carpet, but were shocked at the estimate we received from a national chain of camping stores. Fortunately we found Ernie Ekberg in Weatherford, TX (817)475-3991 who has been doing RV refurbishing since th 80s. He not only installed a much better carpet with waterproof padding, but also replaced the vinyl with tile in the kitchen and bath.

The quality of work was more than we hoped, all on schedule at a fraction of our original quote. We also saw him install a wood floor on a Dynasty that looked fabulous! This is someone you can trust to get the job done and done right.

"Most" carpet stores have no experience in this type of work. I am pretty sure I would not even want them to try. You did the correct thing in finding someone that has experience in doing RV's.

Ernie is a member here and posts frequently on this site as well as others. He probably should go to a commercial member here.

Motorhome Refurbishing

Actually, we didn't think ahead enough to take pictures, but Earnie did and posted them on his yahoo group:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/earnie...elingandrepair.

The missing word in the group is: earniesremodeling, or you can contact him at: www. earnieekbergflooring.net

It is a day by day showing of the work he did along with pictures of other rigs that he has done recently

What did he charge you BTW? Don't need exact numbers, ballpark will do. Mainly I'm interested in the carpet price. Thanks

Looks like his name is Ernie, not Earnie. Try this:

erniesremodelingandrepair : Ernie Ekberg's Floor covering

We had ours done in Spokane by Truline. Could not be happier.

I chatted back and forth with Ernie via e-mail regarding carpet replacement. Since we are in MA with no plans to travel to TX in the near future, he suggested that we see if there was a local Flooring America dealer. He indicated that many of their stores have staff that have done RV flooring. Luckily there was a Flooring America in our area which did have an installer that did RVs. Our rig at the time was a 31 foot class c, with carpet throughout, except for right in front of the sink and in the bath. They replaced the carpet, and removed the carpet around the toilet, replacing it with vinyl. We had been quoted just north of 5K by an RV repair - they did it for less than half that amount. Quality work.

Yes, my name has been spelled so many different ways and pronouncing it for a fast food individual under 20 year old, that has never heard Ernie before- I tell them I'm Steve.

Motorhome refurbishing

Sorry everyone. I added an "a" to that web address. It should be :
erniesremodelingandrepair. We bought our own carpet at Brumbaugh's in Ft. Worth for a fraction of most carpet stores and I think only they carry the heavy duty waterproof padding. Got the tile at Home Depot. Ernie charges $300 per day and usually is finished within 3-5 days. If you do some of the removal of furniture....it's even less.
