Motorhome safes

A sale of Safes at local company got me thinking about upgrading ours in the MH. A second unit or maybe something larger could be handy at times.

Has anyone ever been "required" to open one of these by a LEO?
or at customs check point going in/out of Canada?

If placed like ours (hidden very well) then they would need to know where it was or ask if you had one.

Suspect not bring it up, but do show if asked.

Ours sits in plain sight if you open the closet door, never been asked by customs to open it. Don't know about LEO as I have never been pulled over or had an LEO in the MH.

I have heard accounts of Canadian customs asking if you had a safe then opening it for them. But nothing first hand. As far as a LEO goes it would pretty much depend on why he was asking you. I'd tend to smile nicely and ask to see the search warrant. However crossing the border is another matter.

It might be well hidden, but I guarantee if they look for it...they'll find it.
