Ours are bouncy, nothing wrong with them, they've been that way since we bought the coach. Maybe the OP just wants them to bounce less. RV Upgrades and Camping World both sell supports.

Nothing wrong with them. Have the motorhome parked as a seasonal and I heard the use will eventually wear and tear on the support hinges. I've seen others supporting theirs and just looking for ideas. - Thanks

Luv2go - love your attitude. They are bouncy but nothing wrong with them!

I will say this though - I am no feather weight and mine don't bounce. So while it may have come that way, it need not be that way. A support is clearly less expensive than new, beefy steps so whatever works.

OP I do see people disable the steps (probably because motor went out) and carry a set of plastic or aluminum steps that would probably be more secure than a single support in the middle of the bottom step. Might give that a try / thought.

They have a support prop that goes under the lower step that stablizes the step but it's kinda like using the props under your slide outs, if your stablizers drift it can cause undo stress and bend up your steps or slides. Jim

We have a set of supports we use on the steps - stiffening them helps ease the strain a bit on old knees, both ours and the old mutt. They work well. You do have to remember they are there and keep the steps deactivated so they do not retract with the supports under them. I suppose if the levelers failed it might be a problem, but I typically do not worry about rare things happening.

The steps on my new 2013 Monaco MH were real spongy at first. After a few months sagged even more. The motorized two step unit that weighs about 80 pounds was held in place by a couple of tac welds. There is a sturdy frame on both sides of the step. I constructed brackets & just mounted them under the step mounting. 2 day job that required welding of fabricated brackets that were bolted into place. No welding on MH itself. Steps are now very stable. Better than when it was new.

The steps on our coach were "bouncy" from day 1. I didn't like it and besides I'm not a little guy. Thought I might damage the works eventually so purchased the supports(2) from Camping World. Problem solved.

That is interesting. I didn't even know they made supports for the steps. So apparently just about all MHs have the problem. How do the Camping World supports mount? Im going to take pix of my supports. Easy job if you have a welder. Just a little time consuming to remove and replace steps first. It's heavy for an old guy. Plus have to measure cut, weld, & drill the brackets.

They are not something you "mount" They are just a screw jack. They come in a couple of different sizes. I put them(2) under the bottom step and extend until the step is stable. Go on the Camping World web site, you can see them there.
