Motorhome windshields
Is it possible to get a rock ding repaired on the windshield, rather than replacing the whole thing?

Normally chips can be repaired and your insurance will pay the entire bill rather than have you wait till it is cracked and the whole thing needs replaced.
Safelite will come to your location to repair it and bill your insurance company.

Yes, a lot of windshield damage is repairable. I used to own and operate a windshield repair business. I personally repaired many MH windshield chips and cracks. If you PM me with your phone number I will be glad to chat with you about the process. (typing is so tedious)

Be careful when getting your insurance company involved. Some companies will rack up the "free repair" to a chargeable comprehensive claim to your policy.

We had a chip in our 2013 Itasca while traving thru Las Vegas and had Safelite repair it.

We've had about a dozen done over the years. Safelite did our last two and it was so good that had I not marked them before the repair, it would have taken me a long time to find them. Never had a repaired one travel or get worse.

Safelite did two on our auto a couple of months ago and both are worse than before. RV Glass Solutions did 4 at "Q" last year and refunded for 2 of them the next day.. We'll not be doing any additional!

Do have it repaired ASAP. If you wait to long dirt will get in the cracks and cannot be removed. I made that mistake on my first one..."I'll wait until I get home", that was too late. Now I stop at the first truck stop and there is usually a mobile guy in the area and have it fixed. Can't even see all but the first one.
I have not had good results from Safelite even though the insurance company pays for them. I have had better results from Truck Stops and those guys are only $15 to $20.

Agreed. We had Safelite repair a stone chip a while back and chose to pay the one-time $89 expense of the repair ourselves rather than submit it to insurance and risk a rate increase.

Safelite did my car and it is noticeable. They also did the DW a few months back and you can't see that repair.

When I get a "ding", I immediately paint it over with clear nail polish. Haven't had one "spider" since starting that practice!
