Motorhomes USA

Has anyone done any business with this company? We are looking at a unit that is about 1000 miles away and they want us to send them a $10,000.00 deposit without sending us a vin #.

I have the Brooklyn bridge for sale, and all you will need to do is send $5000. Cheap at half the price of that deposit.

Exclamation

There are too many Motor Homes out there for sale so there is no way I would send anybody a deposit on one without having seen, inspected and driven it.

Don't let your emotions control your head. If it sells to someone else before you get to see it, drive it, have it checked out, so be it. When it comes to your hard earned cash, hand it over to no one without doing all you need to insure YOU are getting what you expect. "Many more fish in the sea" approach.

1000 miles away is not too far. Have them drive the coach to you, and if it is as described....then you can get the vin yourself. And dont forget to have them run a car-fax.

Scammers, anybody who won't send a VIN is obviously hiding something. Good luck in your search for a rig!

Take heed of what others have already replied.

If the deal is too good to be true, it probably isn't true.
I would want to have the VIN# disclosed before I even thought about driving/flying out to see it. Absolutely no deposit first.

I looked up his address on the web and the business is supposedly located in Austin, Texas. However, the mailing address is Houston, Texas. Something sounds pretty fishy to me.

I wouldn't drive 1000 miles to see it without a VIN and having already checked the CarFax.

You have to think "why would someone not give a VIN to a prospective buyer?" and AFAIK there is no answer to that that doesn't point to scam. Giant red flag IMO.

Most motor homes don't show up on Carfax, but more to the point, given that there are lots of motor homes and few buyers, they are trying to lock you in so they control you via your $10,000.

I flew from NY to FL to look at a coach that I did wind up buying, but in this market the idea of paying up front to hold the coach is just a trick to get you to stop looking at other coaches.

You should decline the offer using strong language.
