Question Muffler replacement

Shop I went to today gave me a hard time saying no one makes anything to fit and must be fabbed.

It's a Cummins 300hp, 4" coming in to side or top, 5" out the back center.

about 8" dia 36" long.

Any suggestions?

Or I saw something here about a less restrictive exhaust called
Aero Exhaust Aeroturbine AT5050 Diesel Muffler.

I guess with some elbows it could fit fine.

Any thought stock type or Aero? I don't mind if it's a bit louder.

Go to a truck shop and buy a 4 in 90 degree elbow and a 4" to 5" increase and then order the 5050 muffler. Will also need muffler clamps and hangers. It is somewhat louder, but breathes a lot easier. With a stock muffler my C7 cat always sounded constipated.

My ISL sounded the same way. I put the 5050xl on and yes, it is louder but I also feel that the turbo spools quicker. And the coach lost about 60 pounds to carry.

Good Luck

Check Summit Racing, as that is where I got the replacement for my 2003 Endeavor when I had it.

Jimbo, find yourself a good mobile truck mechanic and he can probably do the install for you.
