My auto step

When I open my door my step takes awhile to "lock" in place. Then when I close my door it moves up and down a little.

Sounds to me that you may be having a battery problem and there isn't enough power in the battery to operate your steps fully. Have your batterys checked to see if they are at full power.
Another problem is your steps may need to be lubed. Lube each part of the steps that has a moving joint and don't forget the step mechanisms under your coach also.
Good luck!!

You might have a loose electrical connection.

Low voltage will cause this as will old grease. Many times people keep spraying the steps with light grease (which kwikee recommends) the grease will get old and thicken up. Our dealership always sprayed with WD40 as a cleaner. After you get all the lube points sprayed, open and close the door several times, let sit for awhile, then respray. Do this about every year. inbetween times lube with a light grease in a spray can. Make sure you get under the coach and get all pivot points. Also the motor clevis.

i am currently going through a similar issue. the rv tech diagnosed it as a a control board issue. it can not sense whether it is in or out. simple fix. check it out.
btw...my steps are fully greased so that is NOT the problem. 93 airstream land yacht...quickee steps.
