My First Post to say hello

I've been reading posts off and on for a couple of years. Since my husband and I are not on the road very much I've really never had anything to contribute. I just thought I should introduce us and say hello.

We are retired and now have custody of our twin granddaughters who are 15 and are just starting the 10th grade. So exciting having teenagers in the house and they are so sweet. We are very proud of them. They are our focus at this time of our life and will be until they are settled in college in a few years. We've had them for almost two years now and its so much fun to see them grow and blossom into wonderful young ladies.

I love to come here and to another forum and read and dream of what it must be like for those of you who are out there rving. Because rving is just a dream at this time I enjoy polishing and puttering in our motorhome. I would love to have a newer motorhome but feel blessed that we have what we have and it doesn't appear to have any problems. A big plus is that we paid cash for it so when we want to do something to it we can. We just bought all new tires for it and had a new roof put on. It might be considered "vintage" but we treat it as if it were new.

We bought our motorhome from a private party and they hid several things from us which we discovered very quickly the first time we took it out. We took care of the problems as we discovered them and except for the roof they were not to costly. Luckily we discovered them one by one. We don't have deep pockets and raising two teenagers on a fixed income is a little pricey although we are receiving child support from both parents.

I've learned so much from reading the posts and enjoy it very much.

Glad you introduced yourself. Sounds like you will have fun with twin 15 year old granddaughters.

Out of curiosity you said you had a new roof put on your motorhome. What kind of roof and who did the work?

Welcome, enjoy your family and RV. Whether new or old we as RVers will also find problems with our RVs. Even though we bought our unit New, I can't believe how many little things here and there that we had to fix. Luckily, we enjoy "improving" ours as we go along..

So glad you introduced yourself. That is so exciting to share your life with twin teenage granddaughters. Y'all are lucky to have each other. Just keep dreaming and envisioning your RV lifestyle ... It will happen!

My husband said that it's a rubberized roof and Baydo's in Tacoma did it. There was a broken board they had to replace. Some minor damage that they had to correct in addition to the roof. I believe the previous owner must have backed into something that caused the problem with the roof. There was also minor damage to the door to the rear basement compartment. It was the back corner of the motorhome on the passenger side that was damaged. They told us there wasn't any water damage done so we probably bought it shortly after the accident happened.
