Need a locking gas cap for a 2013 F53 Chasis

I'm having trouble finding a locking gas cap for my 2014 Terra on a 2013 Ford F53 Chasis. Ford parts people tell me it is not available. They only show a non-locking. Does anyone have a suggestion/fix for this?
Thank you,
Rusty127

Any auto supply store. Bring your cap in and they should be able to match it.

The Ford website states that locking gas caps are available for ALL of their trucks. Not so! I searched at three Ford truck dealerships and found nothing.

I strongly recommend NAPA Auto Parts. Better stuff. The guys at the smog station warned me against buying cheap gas caps as their rubber ring seal breaks down faster.

As suggested above, take your current cap in, to match. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, then take several photos of the cap. Focus on the threads. The local NAPA store pulled all of their Ford F53 caps to help me find two caps with the same key. (Look for the same key numbers.) I bought two identical caps to keep one as a spare. Also, this eliminates the need to make duplicate keys.

The truth is... that, I tend to leave gas caps in the previous state where I filled the gas tank. The NAPA gas cap's tether ring did not fit on the fuel fill pipe of my RV. That's more reason for me to expect losing at least one gas cap.

Keep your old non-locker on hand. Some locking caps can set off you "check engine light" due to venting problems.

We had a locking cap on our 12 passenger bus at work. Twice they cut the rubber hose and drained the tank. Cost us more to have the hose replaced twice and replace the gas twice than just letting them have the gas.

Yes...this is something you need to think about. I've known of a couple of instances, always in a storage lot, that folks had locking gas caps and thieves simply poked or drilled a hole in the gas tank for the fuel. Both tanks had to be replaced.

Thank you,

I picked up one at NAPA auto parts, sorry do not remember the part number. Surely one of the fellas there could help ya out. I am aalso presuming the cap is basically the same from a 2014 F53.

I have also considered changing mine to locking as well, but for
other reasons.I fear that somebody will drop something in the tank
just for spite or fun.

locking gas cap

My Ford F-53 frame under my Fleetwood Fiesta is very similar to your Terra. I realized someone had "borrowed" some fuel a couple of years ago when I stayed at a Wal-Mart in Tennessee one night. I hunted around for a few weeks and did find a locking gas cap at one of the name brand auto parts stores. I also have a locking gas cap on my Toad.....piece of mind.....priceless
