Need exhaust manifold.

My 8.3 350HP cummins engine needs a new exhaust muffler. Has anyone used an upgraded muffler that has improved gas mileage?

There are several out there that claim benefits. I run a straight pipe on my pickup but found it to be offensive on the coach. Just curious, why do you need a replacement?

You will probably get higher mpg by raising your tire pressures than changing your muffler.

I am confused, your title says Manifold and the body of the post says Muffler.

If you have a cracked manifold, call Cummins. About $600.
If you need a Muffler cause it has a hole in it, there are a bunch of options and I'm sure there will be a flood of responses on this subject.
I do not believe a muffler change will make any significant difference in fuel mileage. IMHO

Cummins has quoted approx $1800. to replace the exhaust manifold and I thought i might try an upgraded manifold that could be better than the OEM if there is one available!!

To my limited knowledge, there is no aftermarket manifold available mainly because the ISC is no longer a current production engine. Meaning the market for parts for this engine are dwindling.
I changed mine last summer and bought the manifold and gaskets from Cummins. If you are going to do the work yourself, be prepared to check/repair or replace the exhaust brake while you are at it.

Check with ATS from Colorado, they make a 3 piece that is supposed to be superior in design.
