Need help finding a part.....

Hi all - I am new to this forum and am hoping someone can help me locate a replacement part I have searched high and low for.

We have a 2006 Tiffin Allegro Bus, 43 foot Class A. The latch on our shower door has broken. We have contacted the manufacturer, performed online searches, and called RV replacement part businesses.

Any suggestions or thoughts as to where I can look/call/search? The part number is 702415-100. I am almost to the point of trying to make something myself - but doubt I am creative enough or have the know-how to come up with something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Sean

I had a similar problem with my DS. The OEM latch went south and Newmarket could no longer supply.
Went to Home Depot or one of those places and bought a Brass Sliding Latch used on cabinets etc. I mounted at top top of the shower door on the inside so it is not visible from the outside. Have to reach up and unlatch by sliding the bar back and rematch once in the shower.
Works good an no more rattling shower door. If I can get a photo, I'll PM it to you.

My shower door has a strong magnet in addition to the latch. The magnet is strong enough I do not use the latch. You may want to use magnets if you cannot find a suitable latch.

Thanks so much for your reply! Something I may consider. Solid option for sure.

This is why forums are such good avenues to find help. I hadn't even considered a magnet. One becomes so fixated on finding the exact match that other options are forgotten! Thanks for your response!

I have an OEM installed magnetic strip on the length of the door but it was not sufficient so added the latch. Simple fix, no more problems.
