Need help with space heater

I have a 2010 Phaeton with an inverter with six house batteries. The last few days two space heaters have bit the dust. Both were plugged into inverter powered outlets, but turned on only when the generator was running.. My thought is that the internal circuitry did not handle the inverter power well. Any thoughts?

You are probably right. if that is the case a very simple made cheaper heater migh last you much longer in this case.

Been using a Vernado 1500 watt heater for years with no issues. I also have a 1500 watt Patton that I've used for 7 years with no problems.

On my MH, when the generator is running, the power is switched through my inverter through a transfer switch and passes through the 120 volt generator power. When the generator is off (and no shore power), my inverter picks up the load and inverts MSW (modified Sine Wave) (Xantrex, Freedom 458, 2000 Watt) power to the outlets connected to it. My electric heater is 1500 watts and would drain my 4 golf cart batteries in a few hours if I used it with no generator or shore power. I use only the gas furnace when boondocking.
