Need info on valances

Hi everyone,

We have a new-to-us 2005 Pace Arrow 36D. The previous owners had evidently started some updating, and we have quite a variety of window coverings! Fortunately, we found shades (on sale!) that will work wonderfully. The problem is behind our sofa we have a cabinet with a valance that runs BEHIND it. We have to take the valances down to attach to shades to them, and this cabinet has puck lights, so I'm wondering about getting those disconnected to take the cabinet and then valance down. Anyone experienced this, and what should we expect?

Wire cutters and then butt splice together when done?
Usually the factories aren't worried about changes later so the don't put in easily removable quick disconnects.

Thanks, and we can do that. Just like to have an idea what to expect beforehand!
