Need new bu camera for 06 Navigator-suggestions?? Hard to install?

Morning!! I think I need a new backup camera system in our 06 HR Navigator. The camera does not work anymore. This coach has the Aladdin system and all the components appear to be working but when you toggle over to the video system and choose the back up camera the screen goes black-no rear or side views.

Is it difficult to replace the camera system and by pass the Aladdin?? Anyone else done this!!

Thanks in advance!!
Jerry

It sounds like you lost power to your Aladdin. Can you verify that you have 12v on the connector to the Aladdin? If so then maybe you have a switcher problem, not a camera problem. Most cameras can be converted to a new system, but it is going to be a job if you are planning to pull all new cables and replace cameras. If your cameras are black and white, I would consider changing them out. You may be able to use the same wire.

And yes I have replaced the switcher on my Allegro Bus by putting 3 monitors on the dash and all three work all the time day or night. They are great and I don't have the lag between turning my turn signal on, and the image popping up. Much better situational awareness.

I also installed an additional camera on the hitch so I could back up the MH to the trailer without the guidance from the DW. The monitors I used have 3 separate inputs each and I use the right monitor for both the right side and the hitch. I can toggle back and forth from the hitch camera to the right turn camera when I am hooking up the hitch. Hope this helps.

Interesting you mention the 12v loss. We just picked the coach up from having the battery relay replaced -we were not getting 12v into the coach. Im wondering if they mechanic unhooked something. Wish now I had turned on the camera before we left lol

What brand did you use ?? Love the idea of having them mounted in front of me on the dash!! And I like you can monitor all three at once.

I am a pilot and knowing what is around me, all the time, is very important. Love this display.
