Well dang, you're right! I thought they bought them in the 2003-04 time frame.

I put on six Firestone FS590 22.5" tires about 2.5 years and 20k miles ago. Zero problems and would buy again.

Can't speak to the specific Firestone model being discussed, but we have Firestone FS400 tires on our coach and they are doing fine.
As mentioned earlier, all companies have issues with tires from time to time. Writing off a company's tires forever because of an issue from long ago would mean that you can't buy tires from any any of the major players.
My next set on our coach is going to be Firestone FS561. I'd also feel comfortable with the Bridgestone version, but the specs on the Firestone fit our coach better.

look i wasnt trying or implying to anything. maybe this will explain my question to your question which didn't even have load rating or style ... half the answers you get are for just a size. well many sizes can be bought for trailers or drives then theres steer tires. of course same is for tire designed for regional haul or long haul or city.. just saying sizes mean little in the terminalogy.. like the guy that said he has FS well that designates something. mine are generals and are HS. which is highway steer.. and most put steers on all some mix to save a little some have no clue and just buy a size. ?

FS, I believe, stands for Firestone. The FS561 are highway steer tires and perfectly suitable for RV use, if available in the size needed.
There are many, many ways to choose tires. My suggestion is to find a good commercial tire dealer you trust, and then have a sit down talk with one of the senior people to get their recommendations.

The Wranglers would have been Goodyear tires.
I have Firestone F-560 tires on the rear of my MH. I bought these because they have a more aggressive tread than some of the other tires out there. Nearly everywhere I park my MH is on grass and I want the additional traction the aggressive tread offers.
My steer tires are Michelin.

I cant find a firestone tire in your size listed for something other than local or regional delivery application. I just cant find one in your size . of course any tire in your size and load is ok if listed for steer. I just cant find one I would settle for in that brand for that size.. look for a page like this that describes what tire is intended for, not what sales guy says he thinks he knows... and not saying this company has your size just for info on best application for you in any brand.. https://generaltire.com/tires/commercial

Most people don't realize Michelin has been producing tires in the US for over 100 years now.
