We went to the Edison NJ RV show today and our dealer was there. We discussed the issue with them and they were surprised to hear that safelight was giving us the run around. They asked us to bring the RV down to them and they'd take care of it for us. That was the answer I was looking for.

I really find it strange that Safelite would require you to take the motorhome anywhere! When they replaced mine, they came to my house! Only one guy came, but then my W/S is two pieces. I feel terrible for you, having all that trouble on your new purchase. I hope they take care of it an you finally become a happy camper!

Safelight is not requiring us to take it to the dealership. Safelight is jerking us around, they're in no way trying to work with us. My wife and I both work, I'd have to take time off work to meet with them. The Dealership asked us to bring it to them so they can handle it instead of us. Our windshield is a two piece but safelight tells us it's a three man install.

I would consider taking the rig into another dealer for an independant examination. Even if you spend a few dollars you might be armed with information you might not have otherwise had, that might be useful when you go back to the original service centre. As for the damage to the front of your rig. Given what you've experienced and related the dealership/service centre will likely deny any responsibility and insist that it was previous damage. What ever the outcome I would be loathe to use this dealership again.

Hi Jack

Your driver side Map light should work off the headlight switch. Turn it all the way clockwise. It turns on like an interior light in a car.

Thanks I'll give that a try.

I would demand that the dealer fix your problem. They created it. I had my coachat a dealer this summer for A/C work and they did an inspection and found my windshield popping out at the top corners. Insurance authorized them to remove and reset the windshield. Well after a couple of days the whindshield cracked. I had to have my insurance fix it and let them go after the dealer. Safelite division sent a new windshield to a local shop and it was installed in hours. If you are a member of Good Sams Club write to yjeir Action Line. They seem to be helpful in these matters. Good Luck.
