Need some DeLam Work...Where to Go???

Hey Folks,

I realize that I need some serious Delamination repairs done on my RV. There is now damage to the outer skin, but I need some repairs sone to the interior wall...the slide wall...and I need your opinions.

I have a 2005 Fleetwood Revolution 40 LE. I am willing to drive it wherever...within a likely area, but I need to have your suggestions. I live in Northern Mass. , but I am thinking of heading to the southern states for a few weeks this winter and would be willing to head to a facility further south to have the RV fixed. But I would keep it in the Northern states to have it repaired if you can give me the hint that is good.... But is I have to head south, I would need a facility that would allow me to stay in the RV untill that last hour and then I could find a hotel room that would allow the two pups to stay with us...

I am looking for all of your suggestions...please help......

Faith

You might try contacting the Fleetwood factory. They can do the work. If it is bad enough they will remove the side wall and go from there.

Hmmm Fleetwood. Remember seeing a trend with the skins on those and some poor handling from the factory.

Really? Do you have a source? I'd be interested in reading about that.

Faith, I think Ken's recommendation of Fleetwood is a good one. I know they have a campground at their facility so you could stay there while they work on the RV.

Sorry i can't recall where i say it but there was a whole string of those types of reports. I ran across it when i was looking into what types of motorhomes had what kinds of problems. They all have something. If i remember correctly it was related to the fleetwood changing there name and some RV owners claimed is was because of bad workmanship. There was even some old workers at the factory that posted their story.

There are tons of 04 to 08 delam or gasing side walls on many brands of coaches, Alfa, National, Fleetwood, Tiffin, Newmar and on and on. It is a nighmere and lots of $ to fix.

Take it to the American Coach service center in Decatur IN. You'll not get any better a repair anywhere else. What ever issues Fleetwood may have had before their reorganization seem to have been dealt with, at least in terms of the service department. They've been very good to us.

Yes, they do have a "campground" at the facility. It is electric only, although there is a dump station available. They'll come get the rig at 6am sharp every morning while you are there and return it at the end of their work day, 2:30 or 4:30pm, depending on whether or not they're doing overtime. If, however, it is necessary to remove the slide I'd think for the time it is out you'll be out of the rig. For what it's worth, there are a number of small motels in the area.

Good luck!

All good suggestions. Here is one more service facility that handles everything except chassis work. COMPLETE RV, Denver NC., just outside of CHARLOTTE NC. They have a fenced lot that the pups can run in, gates are locked at night, 30 amp service, sewer pump out right by the coach. Short ride in to Huntersville NC. We stayed at a Quality Inn that is dog friendly, all restaurants easy walking distance from hotel. Ask for Kevin or Maria Dunn. Nice folks, knowledgeable, over 30 years in the business, fair prices! Best of luck!

Few years ago, a co-worker had a Southwind that had major problems. They tried to blame it on him but in the end, the factory replaced the side walls. Cost to him was round trip gas to/from the factory plus 1500 dollars. He was happy with the results.
