Need some eyes in Alvaredo, TX

Next weekend I'm buying a consignment coach at Motor Home Specialists in Alvaredo, TX. Seems that all they do is wash it off without checking fluids, etc.

Does anybody know somebody in the area that would make sure the coach is road-ready (check fluids, make sure it starts, tires are new)? The RV service company that the salesman told me about does nothing but PPIs and he's booked up next week.

Coach is a Travel Supreme with 30K miles, so ought to be excellent, but I'd feel better if it got the once-over before I get there.

Thanks in advance.

Try rvsurvey.com. They have a person in Dallas that does inspections.

Thanks, Im. Looks like they have a flat fee for a full-blown PPI. Not sure I need or want that with this coach, but it's a good alternative.

Btw, I didn't use their RV Survey's service but I did purchase the checklist. I thought it was worth the $20-30. Instead of just giving a list of things to check off, it provided in depth details of what you should be looking for and included pictures.

Also, we looked at a few RVs at MHRVS. we would have purchased there if we found the right unit. They categorized used RV into three categories: used , used as-is, and consignment. The used are mostly newer units that they will make sure that everything works - sort of like certified preowned at car dealerships. The used as is are units that they make sure that the major systems work. I thought they changed the fluids on those too. The consigned, they do not do anything to these.

Overall, we like how they did business. We thought the units were advertised fairly and their prices seemed fair.

John, that's exactly what I'd love to see happen; get an overall impression of the coach.
When I consider used coaches, there are several categories of R&M:

a. might need cleaning, adjusting, tightening, but otherwise able to be made perfect.
b. needs replacing in order to get it perfect
c. can't fix it easily; might have to live with it.

Item "C" includes torn leather, ripped carpet or dashboard damage, clearcoat de-lam, water damage to ceiling panels, extensive rust

"A" and "B" are OK with me, since I like fiddling and making things work right.

I'll send you my contact info and....have fun!

I'll be there one week earlier (next Saturday). On 5 Sept I'll be happily settled on the couch with family. heck, maybe take the party out to the coach and see how that TV works.

Thank you, and I agree. The fireplace, 4-door refer and auto foot-rest for my bride are all going to be appreciated very much. She's excited.

Oh boy, I'm in trouble then. They have a wonderful lot, free golf carts and zero sales pressure, so I hope this look-see doesn't get expensive for you

Looking forward to hearing about your excellent adventure to MHS!
