Need to find information about battery

Hi all, I have a 1986 Holiday Rambler Imperial 33 and I need to replace my battery as it has gone missing. Can anyone tell me the group and number for the battery I need to start my RV? The engine is a 454 (7.4L) 4 BBL. Thank you.

A group 27 should provide plenty of starting amps. If it's a chevy with the side posts get one of those, or adapters. Costco, walmart, sams, all good and cheap batteries.

Why is it missing? Stolen? Borrowed?

CJ, Thank you for your answer. It will be very helpful. I think my old mechanic took my battery when he was last working on the rig. I have done anything with my RV for the last couple of years but now I may have to relocate to Texas and I am planning on using my RV to live until I found the house I want to buy.

I would measure the battery box for H x W x D and get the biggest cranking that will fit. That's a big motor and might not start EZ.

You will need a battery to get it started, but it is going to take a LOT more than a battery to get your coach safe for travel. Suggest you get competent tech to determine what else needs to be replaced.

Group 65 is about the best deal you can get combining adequate CCA (you should look for a minimum of 750 for that engine) and reserve capacity (100 minutes minimum will let you leave the parking lights on for an hour and still get started). If you have side posts I would recommend changing the cables out for top posts-simpler and safer in a 30 year old rig for jump starts and roadside troubleshooting
