E-mail a request to fleetwood with model of Bounder and year. Ask for any schematics they can provide. They had frame, plumbing and both electrical systems for mine. Took a couple days, but what a treasure trove!

Do you know if your isolator is a diode or relay type?

I do not know if my Bounder even has an isolator. Fleetwood made the electrical system in these models ratically different from other motorhomes. Everything is wired through central power converter which controls all the power. If this one does have an isolator I'm betting it's a diode in the alternator. GM tends to put the engines voltage regulator in the alternator. The converter has 3 breakers and 8 glass tubular fuses. I believe one goes to the isolator.

Well, to prove your theory and find out which of those wires is coming from the alternator, unplug the coach, disconnect the house battery, start the engine, and see if anything in that area has power? To confirm, turn the motor off and that wire/circuit should go dead.
If I were looking for an isolator, I'd be looking up under the hood? If you do find a wire at/near the convertor (as described above), the other end will likely originate from there. -Al

While the engine is running and the alternator may be producing, don't disconnect the alternator from the load.
If the alternator is charging, removing the load from the alternator will blow the alternator diodes.
With the engine off, pull the wire, start the engine. Check whatever, shut down engine, reattach wire from alternator.
Good luck
Keith

Geez, no purpose in pulling the wire off the alternator? It should remain connected, and the main battery should still be attached, or you aren't going to be starting the engine to check anything?

The main cable from the starting battery to the starter has little to do with troubleshooting the alternator charging circuit. Although in some systems the alternator output cable goes to the starter solenoid where the battery/starter cable becomes the path from the alternator to the chassis battery. Of course this wouldn't be true in a circuit where the alternator charges both the house and chassis battery.
In addition to not disconnecting Alt. wires with the engine running, depending on the Alt. turning off the main battery disconnects can also blow the diodes in the Alt.

I'm thinking we're on the same page, but coming from different directions? Not disagreeing with a word you're saying, only the concept that I might be suggesting something that might harm the alt.
I worked as a service manager in a large RV dealership from the early seventies until 1990. I've worked on my share of these? -Al

If the Battery isolator is an Intelletec Battery control center you can download the diagrams for those from the company (Intelletec) web page.. I did for mine. And a couple others for reference.
Other makes or systems.. I can only assume. but I've not researched.
