New 2013 Thor 37Kt

I just bought this rig and have afew questions. You must keep the coach power on to get the steps to retract thus allowing something inside to run your batteries down while in storage? The factory guy said ' thats the way it is'? The A/C will not come on..checked fuses,breakers,jacks down, ran generator? The cruise control loudly engages even on a small incline. One thing, if I connect to shore power would the A/C work then or do I still need to fix the problem I mentioned above..Thank You in advance, Ron.

the step was the first thing i noticed in my '12 Thor Daybreak. in my old windsport i had a disconnect for the chassis and a seperate one for the coach. on the daybreak there is only one disconnect. stupid if you ask me. the step is what really bothers me out of the whole thing. like i want someone getting that extra leverage to break my window while it's in storage?? dumb, dumb, dumb. we are out at least once a month so i'm in it enough that my coach batteries never get low so i've resorted to never disconnecting it. i make sure everything is turned off and double check that. if i ever did store it for a long time i guess the option is to live with it or install some sort of switch in between the stair motor and the batter to manually cut that circut.

if it is a new rig and you're a/c is not working, i'd head back to the dealer. did a tech not walk through and turn everything on/off with you to confirm it all worked prior to driving off?

Ther is usually a parasitic load (propane detector or radio memory) or two that will run down a battery. You can add a manual battery disconnect switch that will shut off the batteries totally.

The A/C worked when the shore power was on at the dealership. When I got home and ran the generator it would not come on.
