New Carpeting

We are thinking about replacing the current carpeting in our bus with some new carpet. Just wondering what you have gone through to find someone who can do the installation. The install would include the dog house and a large slide. Not interested in switching to wood. The winter temps here would void any warranty the wood has to offer. Really just want new carpeting but wonder in particular if regular home installers can deal with the project. I know I can (and will) check with them but I expect they will say yes even if they have never done one before.

Thanks

I'd personally want to use an establishment or person that works exclusively on RV house repair, restoration, or rebuilding. I'm sure a person installing carpet in a stick house would tell you that they'd do it but do they know the intricacies of RVs? ...slides and other structures or characteristics exclusive to RVs?

Here's a mobile repair guy in Burlington that I've heard from others does good work (although I've never used him myself) and I'm sure he could install carpet for you:

Vermont Road and Home -- Mobile RV Service

I'm sure there are many more places that do RV house repairs around Burlington that can also do carpeting.

I agree with theroc, I would stick with someone who does RV's. I am interested in doing the same. In my case, replacing the living area carpeting involves moving one of my sldeouts out beyond the wall, to gain access to the trim that holds down the carpeting. I would ONLY trust that sort of thing to a licensed RV tech.

Great question! I am looking into my local RV repair shop replacing the carpet in my 2005 Newmar Scottsdale with 2 slides.

The other problem you will have is the carpet/floorings are put in first, then the walls, cabinets are put on top of the carpet. So we had to take out the toilet, some of the wall paneling too. The carpet under the cabinets we just left. To much work! Consider flooring in common areas, the carpet get's so dirty.
