Folks- in regard to the air systems: Wanderlodge, Newell, and Prevost has them. Lots of systems. Don't be afraid to think outside the production lines. Most of blueprints of the systems. Prevost has the best engine access hands down of any coach. I have a Bluebird as I and another guy were the original founders of the Wanderlodge Forum on the web

New Class A DP or used Marathon Prevost Bus

When I was considering buying our current coach (Foretravel) I talked with a guy that told me of the many things that could go wrong. Scared me half to death. Yes they have a complicated air system. Mine is also rather complicated but I'm learning. Doesn't mean I'll be overhauling the system but I know enough to be sure to keep up the maintenance on the air dryer.. etc. If you maintain it well it will serve you well.
I'm glad we bought the older higher end coach. In five years that older coach that you're looking at will still be solid. Some new coaches are never solid. Once you've driven one you'll know.

I don't think anyone has mentioned financing...if a cash buyer - no problem.

But if financing, I submit that there will be significant differences in available terms from a new and commonly financed RV over a used RV of any maker, and especially 10 years old or more ...it's just the business of banking - and it is not like real estate banking.

Best luck and safe travels

I'm looking at Marathons both SLs and H3s 2001 or 2002 with dual slides. Anything past that and the price seem to almost double.

I've found that 2001 H3 with dual slides go for around $250K but SLs of the same year go for $299K to $350K. I know that SL are factory slides where the H3 is HWH. Everything else seems to be about the same.

I would be looking at all cash or maybe finance a quarter to a third max.

This is a great thread ... as I'm in the same search pattern! I've narrowed down my purchase, which will occur by the end of this year, to "used" in the $200k-$250K range. I've narrowed down my choices to the following used manufacturers: Prevost XL-Liberty/Marathon/Royal ('01-'03); Foretravel-Phenix ('06-'08); Entegra Cornerstone ('10-'12); or Newmar Essex ('08-'10).

I think they all have Pros/Cons, but it seems like the shells of the Prevost are "still" in style and still look great after 12 years. For me, the chassis, suspension, and structure of the home itself (steel) are most important since floorplans can be changed/upgraded with any coach. When I look at these four essentials, that leaves it between the Prevost & Foretravel. I know Newell is an outstanding DP which would fit as well; however, I simply don't like their interiors, which are usually too "glitzy/shiny" for my taste.

Is there a good site for an "owners Prevost site" that I can glean information about things to look for if I decide to purchase a used Prevost?
