On a side note: I'm the kind of guy that looks for positives in all things, so... there have been 3,472 views of this thread, 82 responses, and the upper levels of Ford are aware of a very serious problem on some (not a lot but some) late model chassis and are fixing them. By keeping this thread going, it has served to get awareness out there and that is a good thing.

I'm thinking that maybe a sticky should be made in the Ford F53 chassis forum, describing the problem, the general range of effected chassis, the Ford fix, and the advice to keep an eye on the front wheel bearings.
Yep what he ∆ said. I won't be in the bay area but will happily say hi to anyone who yells while I'm in FL (Lazy Days on 1/19, Naples rest of the month).

Good travels to all!

2forcefull,

I believe you and thank you for the posting.

I read a similar posting on the Ford Forum and replied with my discovery of what may be too tight wheel bearings on my 2012 BayStar with a Nov. 2011 F53 chassis.

I will be going to the Ford Dealer ASAP because my front wheels do not turn freely and I must have a great guardian angel because I now have 18,000 miles on my RV; despite a wheel alignment it still pulls to the right.

we have a 7am appointment at ford repair this am...they have the parts waiting , all should go smooth.... wonder how I could make sure all bearings are replaced???.... hate to go buy another unit... I really like this one...I'm afraid of a tech deciding that the ones I packed with grease are good enough... when I know for a fact that they were not properly greased for2000 miles....

guess it's all gonna Be trust

I am in no way a mechanic but what does he have to gain by his post?
I always carry 2 sets of tools both over 100 pcs ea. Never know when you might need 2 of something.
I guess if I had a brand new MH I probably would at least Carrie one set of tools, that's about all I can see wrong.
I see there are Goodyear 670'es on the Rig. How do you like them?
You'll always find haters were ever you go.
How do you like the rig? I heard the Mrs don't like it???

I didn't know we had haters among us and that they can be easily found wherever I go... Do they wear any special clothing or have any identifying marks or a flag they fly on their rv?

I may be one and if I'm one I would like to know, that way when I offer pizza and beer I can be sure to invite the other haters so I have somebody I can talk to.

Neat! Could you stand there and watch them put them in? Or tell them you want the old ones as souvenirs?

For fun take them to a bearing store like motion industries.

Tell them the story and see what they say about the bearings.

Would be interesting to see what they observe and report

A spin won't tell you anything. There's an intentional light drag on the brake pads to keep them against the rotors. There's no preload on the bearings. It's lightly tightened then backed off to align the cotter pin hole. That's zero torque or preload.
