That depends on how you camp.

If you unplug from home, drive to a campground and plug in, you could get away with 1.

A few overnights in Walmart or Flying Js, you may want at least 2 large 12 volt deep cycle batteries or 2 pairs of 6 volts.

Gp 24s are the smallist 12 volt batteries used in MHs.

pretty sure mine use the coach batteries like my old Allegro

My RV starts fine but the generator just clicks and the last time I tested was at 4.10 volts...

Doesn't seem to have to have room for a actually physically larger battery

I want to get good batteries... I wont be doing much dry camping..

Group 27 is a little larger with a little more capacity....group 31 is larger still
need to take some measurements and then go measure the batteries to see

This one would not be a bad choice if it fits


Trojan batteries are excellent but harder to find. If you can fit 2 of these 6 volt
T-105 batteries they will serve you well. You would wire the 6 volts in series to produce 12 volts.


Trojan also makes 12 volt AGM type batteries....this would be excellent also. AGM batteries don't need checking of water level.....but you must have a good multi-stage charger to properly care for them and not overcharge them.

If you have a Sam's club, their 6 volt golf cart batteries are a good buy. You need 2 or 4

Look at Amp Hour ratings.

You need to use the AH of one 6 volt and compare it to two 12 volt batteries.

Most 6 volt batteries have more then double of a 12 volt batteries AH rating.

Example, 1, 6 volt has 220 AH. You need 2. That equals 220 AH.

1, 12 volt battery has 90 AH, you get 2. That equals 180 AH.

Same price more energy.

The 2X 6 volts would be better than the group 29 battery pictured. The gc2s are true deep cycle batteries and will last longer. The group 29 has an mca number, that is marine cranking amps. This is a hybrid crank/deep cycle that does neither well.

Costco is another good place to find golf cart batteries. Depending where you live it could be regional/seasonal.

If you buy Walmart batteries make sure you save the receipt as the marine batteries warranty requires it. Know this from exeriance, I have five of them in my couch. Have a sixth battery which is used only for the genny.
