New coach "must have's"

We picked up our new Entegra Insignia last week and made the cross country drive to get home.

Love the new home. Since we previously had TT's or 5vr's I don't have a reference as far as how it drove but I can say that it was very comfortable. Felt like I could drive all day.

So now we are busy getting the house ready to put on the market and outfitting our new home.

Some things that I have already gotten or will have soon:
  1. Progressive hard wired EMS
  2. No Nav on Insignia so a Garmin 770 (just came out today)
  3. TPMS. Leaning towards EEZ TPMS.
  4. Doubled my battery bank. We went right by the OEM manufacturer for our coach so saved on shipping etc.
  5. New water hose....found out the hard way the first night that the hose included in the box is only 10' and we were 10.5 feet from the spigot.

What other items do you consider to be must have's?

Thanks,

Chuck and Judy

Congratulations on your new Coach.

To your list of must haves I'd add:

1. Water softner.
2. Good lead free brass adjustable water pressure regulator with pressure gauge.

3. Dash cam.

Don't try and equip you MH like a house. Space and weight are at a premium.
Get nesting cookware like MagnaWare or Rapid Chef.
Corell dinnerware. Stacks down into a small space and less likely to chip.
Wine, you need wine.
A second sewer hose. Some sewer access can be a bit away from coach.
A 50 extension. Same reason.
A colapsable 7 ft. ladder.
Wine, did I mention wine?
Folding patio chairs.
A sense of humor.
And lots of other stuff.

Just remember you are going to have to store it some where and you have limited space. Simplicity is your friend.

Beside all the normal stuff (like quality dump and fresh water hose(s) and assorted kitchen and bath accessories), we are pretty DIY savvy...so:

1. Our RV IS FULL of Robertson Screws-

Name:   Robertson screws.jpg
Views: 579
Size: 6.5 KB
Had to get a Robertson driver, because despite being kinda' compatible with a Phillips, if it's REALLY tight the driver slip using of a Phillips.

2. Circuit tester-
12V and 110V. Really helps with lots of simple diagnosis.

Safe travels

Extensions for water, power (buy a long 30a - cheaper, smaller, lighter - will get the job done on the few occasions needed), and sewer. A clear section for the sewer hose so you can see what's happening. I also carry a 100' regular extension cord (can be used for mooch-docking).

Remote controlled power outlet so you can shut off lecherous electronics. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DQELHBS

Non-slip shelf liner. You cut this in various sizes so you can leave items on tables or countertops without having things slide around. I use one piece to keep a 2.5 gallon water container on my countertop and it'll stay put, even with a little bit of rough/bumpy road. Meaningless in a normal home, they're magical in an RV.

Velcro tape. I use them to put up various things... I have several remotes hanging by the stuff in the living area and bedroom so it has a place. Comes in various colors... I have the white ones and they're almost invisible if the device is removed.

Wireless doorbell. If I'm asleep and you knock on my coach door, I will NOT wake up, and likely wouldn't hear it if I fell asleep with the TV on.

Bungie cords and velcro strap. Some things just need to be secured and you'll never know when you need them until you do, and you will.

Pledge... just regular Pledge, to keep your toilet seal conditioned. Was mentioned to me in a thread of mine. Works well.

That's all I can think of right now that wouldn't be on a 'normal' recommended list that I've found useful.

Oh, clear sewage connector, but that's a typical 'must have' item.

Maybe a folding step-stool to reach those back spaces on the higher shelves in the back of the cabinets.

I think the rest has been covered.

If you camp in National/State or COE parks/campgrounds.....
You are required to have a...
shovel (military folding will suffice)
axe or at least a GOOD full sized hatchet

Happy Trails!
