A) We have a Monaco motorhome with a North/South king-size bed. Really great. When we are traveling and need to catch a little "shut eye", we just pull into a Flying J or someplace similar for a short time. When I turn the key off, I walk straight back and get in bed. Real nice..... when the weathers bad and we don't want to put the slides out, no problem or hassle.

B) We have 4 propane counter top burners in our coach. We bought the coach new 5 years ago and never have used any of the burners. We cook everything in the convection oven. It took us a while to learn the procedures but after that it was very simple and very fast...... and one of the real pluses is that there is no heat or smoke to bother with. We love it.

C) If you are looking at new coaches, check out the "Aqua Hot System". This is a real plus for us and we would not buy a new coach without this feature.

I would suspect one of the reasons for getting rid of propane is the ban on propane tanks. Some tunnels will not let you travel through them with propane. I see more and more tunnels doing that along with other places. I have a bed cover on my pickup. On an overnight business trip I was going to park my pickup at the airport. I could not park it in covered storage because the bed was covered and they could not see at a glance whether or not I had explosives in the back. I had to park in an open lot a good hike away from the terminal. I can see propane tanks taking on more and more bans because of suspected dangers.

The second thing I see is the problem with refilling propane tanks. We are in a campground for a 6 month stay. With winter temps we have to move from our site, fill up the tanks and come back. Having an all electric coach with a heating system that works off of our 150 gallon diesel tank would be great.

Just depends on what you are looking for. The 2014 Allegro Bus is all electric too. I wouldn't have one as we boondock extensively. DW cooks, and when she's on a roll, all three burners are in use and the oven, and the microwave. Furthermore, the Aqua Hot is an electric hog, and Tiffin has been having problems with the tankless water heaters. It took me over 2 years to convince Bob to build our 2013 Bus with gas forced air heat, a 3 burner stove and oven, and gas hot water. What a beauty. It works great to well below freezing, uses minimal propane, and I'm not looking all over Alaska for a 50A plug in.

Do some research before you decide what to get. I saw a post a short time ago that the manufacturer of the Tiffin induction cooktop said it was not capable of simmering any food. It couldn't be turned down that low. You also need 220V and that translates into a 50A connection or generator run to use the cook top. Not the way we use our coach or what we wanted, so it looks like I have my last Tiffin Bus. Everyone's different so think hard before you write that check. You don't want to make a very expensive mistake.

It really does depend on how you will use your coach and how your coach is configured. My coach is diesel/electric. The few times we dry camped I would turn the generator on for 30 minutes in the morning to replenish the batteries. The generator would only be used in the evening if the 220V cooktop was used. We grill outside when we can or se the microwave/convection oven. In these cases, no need for the generator. We have a Webasto, diesel fired heater for heat and hot water when we aren't on power. It works great. I do have a lot of battery capacity which is why I don't need to run the generator any more than I do.

We seldom dry camp. We did spend a few monhs in northern Canda and Alaske where 50A service is rare. We may have run the generator twice so we could use the cooktop.

Determine your use and from there determine how you need your coach configured.

We have a Monaco Windsor with all the extras. We were looking for
more kitchen counter space and a TV that was not mounted where you had to turn your head to watch.

We want either a full body triple slide or a quad slide.
We were surprised that a lot of coaches went to electric with only a dual burner stove.
We want more cooking area in the kitchen, why down size the stove?
We also do not want a bed that you cannot use if you cannot put slides out.
The rear bathroom is OK if they did not put the walk in closets in the bathroom.

Who thinks up these ideas?
Block off the bathroom so add another one.
I would rather have the extra room.
