New Floor in New to us Newmar

We bought the floor today for the entire coach. It is interlocking, vinyl, floating and waterproof. I called Newmar and they told me to get as close to the height of the original flooring or the slide could bind. I dont doubt this could happen what I would like to know is how likely is it? Has anyone had an issue like this or do I have a fair amount of leeway with the height? The previous carpet pad combination was about 5/8" thick. The floor with a double layer of underlayment is about 3/8" So I am about 1/4" shy of the factory installed floor except where the slide goes over the kit floor which was glue down simulated wood about 3/8". Personally I think I will be OK but I wonder if anyone has had a similar issue that did cause them a problem I would be grateful to know about it.

We had the flooring replaced in our '02 DSDP with real tile. The shop had to order smaller rollers from Newmar due to the thickness of the new flooring.

Since you already have it apart and might even have some underlayment cut...add another layer. Or take the existing layers out and put one thicker one.
You have one chance to do this easily. It wouldn't be good to have to remove the finished floor and do it all over again later.

I guess you could look into changing the roller heights as attached to the slide...but that will certainly be more work than just putting some more underlayment in. I haven't looked (yet), but the slide might have to be removed to change the roller dimensions / shimming. Adding more material is always easier than removing it.

Of course you are measuring the carpet when crushed, not loose as the roller is squashing it well...my carpet has the "dents" to prove that.
