Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I've never used a tankless water heater.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I always thought they would be too much of a Voltage hog for an RV. Your rig might be 30 amp, if so, is there a 30 amp unit?

I’m thinking leave everything stock and piggy back a 110v portable into the line with a splitter. A helper for the 6 gallon existing water heater.
Cost $168 plus my time.

Which tankless one are you using. The only 120 volt thing I found is a mini tank heater.

Do some research about RV Tankless water heaters and the issues with HOT/COLD temps due to flow issues

As a previous FTr......NO Thanks!
Standard 10 gal gas/electric tank water heater works just fine

Not for nothing but if Twinboat and Old Biscuit are not on board then it is probably not a good idea.

On the other hand, if you had an AquaHot, it heats water wonderfully.

I guess that doesn't apply though. Just didn't want you to get the impression on demand is bad for everyone.

I'll go back in my corner now

Thanks guys. I will do more research. Seems I get a idea and won’t stop tell I’m either right or wrong.

I have a tankless water heater in my 2015 Jayco precept which I love, only heats water when needed uses less propane that way. However anytime you go to a campground with less than 40psi of water pressure sometimes the water temperature is hard to get right

Is your existing 6 gal original equipment? If so, think about just replacing that with a 10 gal. I know that many models fit in the same cutout, the 10 gal is just a bit deeper than the 6.
