New Golf Cart 6V Batteries
Costco GC2 $85 each AH unknown
DuraCell $119 each but 215 AH
Trojan T105 $165 each, 225 AH
My current Costco GC2 batteries died within 3 years of purchase. They will charge but not hold load. My previous Trojan T105 made 6 yrs before failure. They are recharged and equalized by a Freedom 25 inverter.
We do a couple of weeks of dry camping each year.
Anyone have insightful opinions on which of the above is the better battery choice for the buck?

I have used the Trojan T-105's in multiple banks on all of my cruising boats house banks for over 20 years. I would run them for about 5 years, year round down here in Florida. If you keep them full of water and watch how far you deep cycle them down, use a smart charging system, you should expect excellent service life. I have never tried brand x so I have no comparison to offer you. They are a little high on the price side, but my experience with them was far more than satisfactory.

Last November, I replaced the nearly 10 year old T-105s with these:
Ray-O-Vac Ultra Pro, Item number: SLIGC115, same as Deka GC-15 which is East Penn/Deka manufactured
64# each, 230AH, 10.25" x 7.125" x 10.875"h, 5/16" studs, $110 at Batteries Plus
I've had good luck with Deka manufactured batteries in other applications. So I'm trying them in the bus. As I recall, Sam's Club has Duracell labeled Dekas for about $93, but I think they are lower AH.
By the way, the weight of a battery gives you a hint for comparison. Thicker plates means heavier battery (in same case size)

Yesterday I bought 4 t105s for 134 plus tax, installed. I paid 10 bucks for the cable I needed. I think he did that cause I had to tell them how to install. They weigh about 67#s, 3 more than the Sams or Costco models. That's why I went with them, I'm sure its all lead.

Batteries
Trojan are the best choice. The other brands just cant hang. Had costco and they would die at 2 am dry camping with the furnace on. With new Trojan it ran all nite and didnt even phase them. You get what you pay for!

I bought Sams Club 6 volt batteries and got 9 years out of them and they still were going when I bought 4 more from Sams Club again. I dry camp alot as we play in the So Cal deserts all winter and stay in lots of state parks etc with no hook ups. I have a Freedom Inverter Charger I use as well and 12 amps of solar panels. Keep em' full of water, keep em' clean and Keep em' charged and you've done all you can do the rest is up to luck !

Thanks to all for your comments on the decision.
I suspect I will try the Costco battteries again since they are 1/2 the price of the Trojans with nearly the same specs but not as much weight.
Hopefully, I get a better result this time but if only three years vs six year life then I guess I break even on the result.

Try your local golf cart dealers. Here is an example in my area. 6 trojans for less than $100 each. NEW 2013 TROJAN GOLF CART BATTERIES
