New Holiday Rambler Ambassador
Hi All,
We just purchased a new 2014 Holiday Rambler Ambassador. Part of the negotiation included an in-motion satellite system. On inspection of the rig, we discovered that there is no way to watch TV while in motion. The slide out covers the LR TV and there is no overhead TV. Now, the big question is.. How many folks really watch TV while moving?? I don't include the driver in that question. We can install an overhead TV but I am curious as to how many , even if they have it, watch it. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Good if you travel with kids - otherwise, not that important IMHO.

Had it in my last coach and never used it. No one ever wanted to watch TV when we were on the road.

I have a in - motion system on my new Discovery and have never used it on the road. Great if you have kids, otherwise look at the scenery.

What we found with the In Motion was that when stopping for a break and when arriving at a campground, the Signal is there. No setting up to only find that you have no signal and need to move some. As for watching it when driving , we keep it on the weather channel or ESPN to listen to.

We have it running for the kids. The tv that is behind the slide, does it have an "always in view" slide stand, saw something like this when I was looking at a review of the new thor outlaw 37 MD and thought it was cool. Perhaps you could do a retrofit like that, I also saw another thread on this site where a user pot a tv on a pop up behind their couch. Was pretty sweet, so you may have options. Good luck

I only used mine a couple of times in 5 years. I bought my wife a 7 inch lap TV she can connect and watch from the copilot seat when she wants to but she has only used it a couple of times. I guess she finds talking to me more enjoyable.

We have it. It doesn't work that well. Coach is a 2013. We use it about once per year.

in motion
Even with the older units, the front TV is disabled with the key on. It's a safety issue.

Ours would work on our previous MH and it was nice when we took the grandkids. There is nothing but miles and miles of miles and miles in Iowa so turn on the kids channels and listen to it or listen to them whine of when will we be there. It was very handy for that as well as wide open sites. Flip a switch and in a few minutes you are up and running except in shady camp grounds. DW and I are planning on getting a portable as we have run into too many times the campsite could not see the satellite and it makes for long days and nights when it's raining.
